Our current volunteering opportunities have been suspended for three months as MAECare will not be running it’s usual activities. This decision has been made in light of the latest government advice for the COVID-19 outbreak and protecting the most vulnerable members of society.
We have received many offers to volunteer with MAECare during these uncertain times and we are delighted to see so many people reaching out to help their local community. We are currently liaising with Volunteer Action Leeds who are working with Leeds City Council to coordinate a city wide volunteering effort to support the most vulnerable people in society. If you would like to offer your time, please sign-up to become a Community Care Volunteer HERE. You can find out more about this volunteer scheme here: https://doinggoodleeds.org.uk/covid-19-care-volunteering.html
Also we encourage you to contact your neighbours and see if they are ok. Some people are using a neighbourly note (see below) and posting this through peoples doors if you are fit and able to help. It’s these small acts of kindness that will help us all to get through this difficult time.
If you need advice or would like further information not available on our website then don't hesitate to contact us:
