Photography Exhibit Opening Reception
October 3, 2014The Silver Snappers, a group of ten budding photographers who participated in a six-week workshop were pleased and proud to see their art and poetry displayed at the White Cloth Gallery in Leeds City Centre.
The exhibit was launched with an opening reception on 24 September.
An excellent turnout for the launch!
Leeds photographer Lizzie Coombes (aka Betty Lawless) led the group in learning the basics of digital photography as well as what makes for a good shot. Along with poet Peter Spafford, the group also explored creative writing as a medium to express what really matters to us, the core things that make us who we are. It was an incredible journey of discovery and learning, and the group has continued meeting monthly since the workshop ended.

The exhibit, which is part of the Leeds Love Arts festival, will be at White Cloth until 1 November. The prints will then be returned to MAECare and we plan on showing it in the future at other spaces, including our new premises.
