MAECare needs volunteer drivers
May 12, 2017Would you like to make a big difference to the lives of isolated older people?
Got a few hours a month to spare, then MAECare could use your help?
Our volunteer drivers bring people to our activities, mostly during the day but some evenings and weekends.
One of our service users told us “if I didn’t get out to MAECare activities I would feel very lonely, thank goodness for Pauline who drives us here”
Drivers receive out of pocket expenses, training and ongoing support. The driving is mainly in the Alwoodley, Moortown and Shadwell areas.
You need a clean driving licence and to be over 18 with fully comprehensive insurance.
Patience and understanding of older people are good skills to have.
