Lord Mayor’s Thank You Event 25 November 2020
November 27, 2020Lord Mayor’s Thankyou Event 25 November 2020
We were delighted to be nominated by our Ward Councillors to attend a virtual thankyou event organised by Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Eileen Taylor and also attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Ed Anderson, and the High Sherriff, Jonathon Thornton.
MAECare was one of a number of third sector organisations which also included other Neighbourhood Networks, who were thanked for the amazing work they have done in particular over the last 8 months during the pandemic. We all stepped up to be Community Care Hubs for our wards, providing practical help to all local people, regardless of age, struggling with shopping and collecting prescriptions, and emotional support.
In addition to being the Alwoodley Community Care Hub, we have adapted our services so that we can continue to support older people in LS17.
