Clandestine Cake Club in Leeds 17
November 1, 2013A great array of cakes were available at the meeting of the Clandestine Cake Club in Leeds 17 on October 29th. Yorkshire Tea loaf, lemon drizzle cake and ginger cake were among the cakes enjoyed by a group of older people living in the Moortown area.
‘I enjoyed sampling the different cakes and it was great to share memories of baking days in the past. Nettle wine was a favourite of my grandma’s I would love to get that recipe again’ said one participant.”
Lynn Hill, founder of Clandestine Cake Clubs demonstrated how to make a Yorkshire Tea loaf and then there was a chance for everyone to have a taste of a freshly baked cake!
