Celebrating another successful year at MAECare
July 14, 2017Our annual celebration was a joyful and at times very moving event this year.
On Tuesday July 11th, service users, committee members, volunteers and local people gathered to celebrate the work of MAECare.
Highlights were contributions from Gillian Edwards who talked about her experience of being an ‘adoptive grandparent’. She has made a great bond with a young mother and her son. With no family living nearby she was glad to have a young family in her life and would heartily recommend it to other people.
Ann and Jane both shared their experience of being Carers. Their experiences will soon be posted on our blog. They wanted to say how MAECare had made such a difference and helped them both to support their husband in Ann’s case and her mother in Jane’s situation.
Thanks were expressed to Dorothy Taylor who has resigned as a board member after 22 years. She was one of the founding members of the committee.

The formal part of the meeting ended with a brilliant performance by the Harmony Choir.
Lunch followed, as has been our tradition served by members of the committee.
