Making a MatchSeptember 14, 2018
Making a Match is a new project funded by National Lottery Community Fund which aims to match people with a shared interest and help them build a friendship over that shared interest. It is being delivered by MAECare in conjunction with OPAL (Older People’s Action in the Locality) and is open to people aged 50+ who live in LS16 or LS17 who can live independently and who would like to revisit an old hobby or take up a new activity or interest whilst also making a new friend.
Lisa Wilson and Janet Onslow are our new Project Workers who will be working on this project, you can get in touch with them on 074 986 142 58 / [email protected] (Lisa) or 074 986 142 27 / [email protected] (Janet). Janet and Lisa will be meeting potential Making a Match clients, finding out about their interests and learning about the myriad of wonderful activities and pastimes available locally. So if you’d like to learn a new language, go to the theatre, join a choir or pursue some other interest but are put off because you don’t currently have anyone to go with then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
