Annual Get TogetherJuly 18, 2014
On Monday, 14 July we had a very successful Annual Get Together, attended by approximately 120 members, volunteers, and professionals from partnership agencies.
We had a chance to reflect on what we’ve accomplished over the past year, including hearing from the individuals who have directly benefited from the work. We were also joined by several elected officials. Cllr Adam Ogilvie, Executive Member for Adult Social Care, shared his thoughts with us about why he loves the work he does and how essential neighbourhood network schemes are in supporting older adults all around Leeds. Cllrs Peter Harrand, Dan Cohen, Neil Buckley and Ann Castle, as well as Fabian Hamilton MP, were also in attendance.
A key item on the agenda of this get together was to look forward to the future, focusing especially on MAECare’s expanding to the premises next door to the current office space. This will be a year of exciting challenges and change, resulting in strengthening and growing our already-extensive programming. Quite literally—watch this space!
