This scheme encourages older people to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, helps to address fuel poverty and offers a range of practical aids for keeping warm and well in winter.  The scheme is promoted in the autumn newsletter and about 100 people benefit each year. MAECare tries to introduce a novel item each year but regular offers such as thermal underwear and low energy light bulbs remain popular.
