The Volunteer Car Scheme helps MAECare members to attend social events as well as medical and other appointments by offering lifts where no other means of transport is practicable.  About 1700 lifts are provided each year by about forty-five volunteer drivers who are supported and co-ordinated by a member of the MAECare staff team.  Most drivers are retired people but some are still in employment and fit their voluntary work into their precious free time.  To find out more about becoming a volunteer driver or how to request a lift, telephone Elisabeth on 266 0371.
